Letters for Change
Writing workshops were held for 6th, 7th and 8th graders in Kern County, California. These workshops were facilitated by Hannah Berk. Hannah has a background in teaching English, debate, and creative writing and served as Digital Editor for Asymptote, an online journal for world literature in translation. Students explored ideas on writing a letter for change to a local elected official. They explored global issues and were then encouraged to write their own letter for change.
