Journalist visits James Day Middle School to share his account of a life-changing event that occurred while reporting overseas in Somalia.

Journalist and novelist Michael Scott Moore visited another middle school this year to discuss his experiences as a writer. Throughout the course of three school periods, Moore shared his account of a life-changing event that occurred while reporting overseas. His story of hardship and forgiveness inspired an audience of approximately two-hundred 8th grade students from James Day Middle School. History and English teacher Mr. Joseph Arreola, along with ASB teacher Tara Fry, collaborated with Educada in putting together this event. Arreola stated that even days after the event, students were still sharing how much Moore’s story had impacted them.
