As part of its inaugural journalism outreach event, Educada partnered with Rialto Middle School
and its Annual Career Day. Photojournalist and filmmaker Isadora Kosovsky was featured at
Rialto, reaching nearly 500 students throughout the day.

Isadora is a contributor to The New York Times, The Washington Post, TIME magazine, and The
National Geographic. The Royal Photo Society has named her one of a hundred “heroines” in
photography worldwide. Although her works have been published around the globe, she took
Rialto Middle School students on a visual journey that started when she too was a middle-
schooler in California years ago. She was able to share how young people can impact change
through empathy and good listening in their relationships with others. Her work as a young
documentary photographer helped increase funding for programs and change laws to benefit
the families she had helped to document.
Special guest Kent Kobersteen, former Director of Photography and Senior Editor at National
Geographic Magazine provided insight on the rewarding career of journalism and the changes
the field has seen over the years.

Educada directors Caden Choi and Eduardo Ventura enjoyed introducing these remarkable
journalists throughout six periods at Rialto Middle School and thank principal Ricardo Garcia-
Felix and Counselor Craig Wong for their partnership.
